I'm impressed with my self-restraint on this one--nary a bird in sight.

i like this one, thought about going into the woods and doing a similar. well done.
ReplyDeleteThat's a long way up there! Almost makes me dizzy, looking at it! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteoh but lots of beautiful green to get lost in....love the texture where the sun comes through as well....love it cheryl
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous, Cheryl! It just looks so majestic. It makes me want to lie down on the ground (and try to ignore the spiders crawling all over me) and just look up into the sky and the beautiful trees (and try to ignore all the spiders dropping down on me from up above.)
ReplyDeleteI like how it's not just one tree, but two trees and they're both off to the sides with the canopy at center. I think what I'm trying to say is I like the perspective in this one.
ReplyDeleteI want to be there NOW!
ReplyDeleteI love it, and while I was admiring the (soon to be gone) greenery, I saw that you referred to us as "head cases" and that almost made me spit up my coffee. ahahahaa!
ReplyDeleteAs wonderful as that photo is, the most wonderful thing is that they don't peck your eyes out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo. I love the bright green colors and the angle! You're flippen amazing!
ReplyDeleteLovely, Cheryl. Just lovely. (Yay, I got through to the comments!)
ReplyDeleteI tried a different browser since Safari would not let me comment on your blog. Firefox worked - so glad - another problem solved and to think I thought it would be way over my head
ReplyDeleteA beautiful one. Very creative.
ReplyDeletei very much love that!
ReplyDeletelove this one! it's only just now occurring to me that "DOPE" is acronym, but what does the E stand for? Sorry if I missed it. Also, did you take that last 5 awesome little sky photos at the end? Too cool. Gives a new meaning to "sky writing." Now, wish me luck as I push the "post" button. (Uh-oh, the time didn't work....let's try this again)
ReplyDeleteFirst, the essential news: I switched to Firefox, and I can finally comment on your posts.
ReplyDeleteSecond, what a beautiful photograph this is, Cheryl. I love everything about it, from the sweeping majesty of the trees and their sheltering canopies to my favorite feature, the remarkable lack of birds. Great work, as always.
Thank you for saving me the trouble by pointing that out, Nicky.
ReplyDeleteWe have no idea what you're trying to say, but if you repeat it a lot it'll probably start to sound credible. The same tactic works for Romney.
ReplyDeleteDear god. *shudders*
ReplyDeleteDizzy? That may be the morning bottle of wine, Boom-Boom.
ReplyDeleteYou and Mike - no birds in your skies .... awwwww

Cheryl, this is a magical photo! You are amazing! I can see you lying there on a blanket with the silver hair spread out and the long legs encased in jeans with your camera pointed to the sky! I just wish someone was there to capture your image as you captured this one.
ReplyDeleteI like this picture which has no so much sky part and full of different green colors. Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! WIsh I could be in a shady spot like that - of course the birds and spiders were in hiding waiting for the perfect moment to coordinate their attack.
ReplyDeletefabulous ... oh to be there and see that!!!
ReplyDeleteThis picture takes my breath away because I have always wanted to capture something like this. So now I own all of this amazing camera equipment and 1) I live in the suburbs of Dallas and finding a tree of significant height is nearly impossible 2) I seem to only take photos with my iphone.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this beautiful image!
Very nice shot. Love the perspective.
ReplyDeleteOh you didn't miss a thing. The E is a backwards 3. I was just too damn tired to spell the whole thing out when I was setting up the 2nd post and opted to go with DOPE simply because I could. Once my schedule settles down and I actually have time to respond to more than one person a day, I may just spell out the entire thing. I like living on the edge.
ReplyDeleteYou're one to talk.
ReplyDeletePay no attention to Michael. I understood exactly what you were saying. I hate to break it to you but there are many, many trees creating that canopy.
ReplyDeleteDear gawd, using the royal we are we? Shall we continue to do this for the next 26 days?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ziva. I'm not quite sure where everyone's getting this romantic notion that I was lying on the ground where there were worse things than spiders to worry about. I was standing & had my camera pointed straight up at that wonder. These may not be redwoods but they're some mighty tall trees.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike & I'm glad someone caught it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike. Glad you found a way to break through the chastity belt of Disqus. Because I adore you, I went against character and left the 2 million bird shots in their folders. Here's a relatively crappy shot for you to post on your office wall and toss darts at to your heart's content.
ReplyDeleteI love trees, especially looking up at them in all their glory. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteTREES.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I so in love with trees? It's their majesty, their stalwartness, their history, their determination to stand in the strongest wind.
A-HA! I see I did ask you about the cloud spelling, and not inside my head.
ReplyDeleteI'm dizzy...looking at this shot. :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful shades of green! (By the way, I'm working backwards which is how come I've sorted out the garbled disqus name before I've started moaning about it! :) )
ReplyDeleteI'm dizzy...looking at this shot. :-)
