30 Days of Photographs III: Day 30 ~ Blackout

Irony is incredibly sweet except in cases like this. As the nor'easter batters New England and Hurricane Sandy barrels up the east coast, it's quite likely that many of us will be living this prompt as this post hits the internet.

As much as I love going to the coast to watch the waves break 50 feet overhead, I may not be able to do get there this time around. Of course I'll bring my camera if I can get there safely.

See y'all on the other side of Frankenstorm (who makes up this shit?). In the meantime, please check out the the photos posted by the inlanders, Canadians, and Finns.

Why does everybody think that's the moon in the upper left corner? I know Cheryl. It's some kinda damn yellow bird, waiting in the dark to peck our eyes out. Because that's what birds do. They peck your eyes out.

    (Love you, Cheryl.)

  18. You really had to go there, BonyMike, didn't you.

  19. no way that could be an eye pecking bird ... there's no sharp beak attached ... and eye pecking birds always have overly large sharp beaks ... what that is though is a tiny bit of an eye pecking bird's massive egg, sitting in its evil dark black nest ...

  20. I love the little corner of the moon in this picture!

Also, NJ is an absolute mess. Things are really bad. We have no power, no television, no radio, no internet, no landlines, no cell phone service, no texts, no emails, no form of communication whatsoever - nothing.

And the roads are awful. Trees & power lines are down, blocking streets, no traffic lights work...ect.

We probably won't have power for at least a week.

Luckily I was able to escape NJ with my son and and we made it to PA safely, to my brothers house where we have POWER and INTERNET and SHOWERS. Thank fuck.

  21. Nothing like the convergence of a full moon, high tide and a hurricane. Glad you made it safely through.
