30 Days of Photographs III: Day 18 ~ QWERTY

What? You were expecting birds? Pffft. Couldn't get the blue jays to cooperate so I went with Plan B.

To find out how many people posted photos of keypads from every known electronic device, Scrabble letters, kids blocks, or maybe something completely surpising, hop on over here.

  2. Very ingenious!! I agree with Brian...I wonder to how you got those clouds to go through the typewriter...that was very funny.

  3. that is so cool!

  4. Very creative! And what Brian said!

  5. I think I once knew a blue jay named Qwerty...

  6. I've always loved your cloud letters.

    =)

  7. oh wow...at first I was thinking "I don't get it" then I realized the letters were spelled out in the clouds! Very cool!!!!!

  8. Wow, how the heck did you do that?

  9. Non-cooperating Blue Jays? Surely not. Plan B is a good one. As usual, some of your tags make me laugh. Hope breakfast was tasty.

  10. Here's the rub. Brian was joking because he knows that QWERTY isn't a typewriter rather the arrangement of keys on any device with keys positioned as they are on a typewriter. It's also the left-most string of letters just above the "home keys" for those of us who are touch typists.

Danielle, darlin', you are really putting the screws to my feelings of aging today. I think I need to take my aging self to bed for a nap now. ::snort:: (Why bother laughing if you're not going to snort!)

  11. Thanks Sue. These are new and hastily taken on the one day this month when the sky wasn't filled with low-hanging gray clouds, raining, or foggy. I need a vacation from this weather.

  12. Ah Lisa, you understand me and birds only too well. Today it was tasty. I'll be eating those words soon enough because some of the upcoming prompts are challenging to shoot artistically.

  13. Was it cooperative or a pain in the butt?

  14. Thanks. Brian is such a joker. He never fails to bring a smile when he visits.

  15. i would say yours was unique!

  16. Thanks Ziva. I think I need a whipping for bending the rules. Although I do remember you condoning a collage as one photo back in April. Either way, I'll take whatever's coming my way.

  17. If someone had to be the smart ass, I'm glad it was you. At least you know that qwerty isn't a typewriter. The younguns' in this thing are really wreaking havoc on my feelings of growing older. GAH!

  18. Thanks Barb. Not my best cloud letters but I'm working hard to stay within the rule(s). When I was doing this for a weekly photo challenge, I had some really good letters from clouds and things I found in nature.

  19. Mostly by breaking the one photo rule and creating a collage. I'm pretty adept at finding letters in the sky. Not thrilled with the W but it's what I could get with only one day of clear weather. The collage was time-consuming to make since none of the free photo editing software has a 'make your own grid' feature. I had to go a different direction to get the same affect.

  20. It's different but there's at least one other out there that's as different as mine. Hers is hysterical and a bit off-color. It was definitely surprising. If you're so incline, here's the link. http://www.shoot-me-now.com/q-w-e-r-t-y/

  21. I'd say the collage is okay, but I think I'll give you a whipping anyway, just because it's fun!

  22. Unique one! Nature talks to you people say and the cloud talks to you too!

  23. Your cloud pictures really make me want to head outside and relax. This is a beautiful take on the prompt.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I absolutely believe that nature speaks to us. We just have to pay attention to understand what she's saying.

  25. Thank you Monique. I hope you went outside and enjoyed part of the day.

  26. these are AWESOME. i LOVE IT! I LOVE CLOUDS. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT JOB!

  27. I'm fascinated but creeped out a little. How'd you get the clouds to cooperate with you in time for this prompt?

    ReplyDelete
  28. STFD!!!!!!!!! That's INCREDIBLE! YOU WIN!! Best photo of the day, 100%

  29. Thanks Val. It's one of my favorite things to do ~ find letters in nature, especially clouds.

  30. We had one good day of weather so it wasn't as easy as it could have been. Shot all of them within an hour. Having a special talent that involves finding images of letters in nature and clouds is more creepy than anything else.

  31. Thanks Meleah. Finding letters in nature, especially in the sky, is just one of my many unmarketable skills.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, I think you're SOFA KING talented.

    ReplyDelete
  33. NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY! We will be at the beach house this weekend and because of you, I plan to look for letters in the clouds.... you have opened my eyes to something new!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Damn, you are brilliant! However, you must quit drinking so much and lounging in the yard all day. Get up and go find a bird!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Amazing clouds! Impressive way to tackle this prompt, Cheryl!

    ReplyDelete
  36. You're going to love it. Watch for numbers too. You'll be amazed at what you find up there. It's a whole new world. (The tough part is photographing them before they morph into something else.)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks Malisa. My unmarketable skills are endless. This took about an hour.

For the record, I HAVE BIRDS. I just don't have anywhere to use them in this list of prompts. Because I wasn't thrilled with the cloud W, I almost went with an upside down gull. That looked worse since the dimensions were wrong.

  38. Thanks Paula. If I could have figured out how to do this with birds, I'd have done it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. This cloud-letter idea is fairly brilliant. You probably ought to patent it or something. Also, I'm relieved to see that there are no birds hovering in the clouds waiting to peck my eyes out.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thank god you felt stupid today.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'll be at Katherine's beach house, too. Looking for the letter Q.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hahahahahaha! If that Barbie had my name on it, I'd be over there now.

    ReplyDelete
  43. MikeWJ, I have grown incredibly old since this thing started. I'm pretty sure those kids are responsible.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh, they're coming. Probably when you least expect 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  45. beautiful ... i enjoy your cloud photos ... and the word stands out so clearly!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks Jo. Time to do something with them. I'd like to make a poster for kids to help them learn their alphabet. With all the different colors, I'm not sure how that's going to work. Could be an expensive undertaking.

  47. Thanks Michael. I've had parents and teachers suggesting I make something for kids. Since I started doing this a couple of years ago, I've got a fairly big collection. Just need some inspiration and a bit of guidance.

  48. Smart! I bet no one else did clouds :)
