30 Days of Photographs: Day 31 ~ Out of Commission

I seem to have developed a 30 Days of Photographs III injury that's wreaking havoc with my dominant arm, so I'll be off the grid for a while until it heals.

A special thank you to Ziva, Michael, and all of the other participants in 30 Days of Photographs III for sharing your incredible photos, creative interpretations of each prompt, and for making the past 30 days so enjoyable with your weird raunchy frightening quirky humor.

[Written on October 29th]

The 31st day of this challenge was meant to be devoted to our outtakes: photos we could have used for prompts but didn't because the challenge was restricted to one photo for each prompt.

I'll likely share my outtakes at a later date but today I wanted to share a photograph of the sun rising on Sunday, October 28th. Once the sun cleared the horizon, it was immediately engulfed in clouds--the harbingers of the rapidly approaching nor'easter that eventually combined with Hurricane Sandy.

I've never seen anything quite as beautiful as the ever-changing skies before and during this sunrise. I've also never known this nursery rhyme to be wrong.

Red sky at night,
Sailor's delight.
Red sky in morning,
Sailor's warning.

You're one mouse click away from viewing this in all its ginormous glory.

To all of you who participated in DOP3, it would be my honor is you'd grab this badge for your blog.

It's a small memento of the past 30 days and something to carefully consider before joining 30 DOP4.

Pee Ess: I apologize for missing your Blackout posts yesterday. I'll get around to those and your brilliant Outtakes when I can.

  12. Cheryl, that is stunning!

Now, think about going to the doc and seeing what is going on. I've had something called a "frozen shoulder" twice and a cortisone shot really made a big difference in how fast it went away. I'm sorry you are hurting. Get better soon. (I've been awol too because of a low back sprain that's just now letting me sit in a chair in front of a computer!)

  19. Cheryl, this is stunning. I've never seen more beautiful clouds. Too bad it was the prelude to such destruction.

  20. The sunrise never lies! I'm a tad bit late getting over here, but I want to say thanks for being one of the people who got me into this mess! As painful as it was at times, it was far more generative and hilarious. I shall wear your badge of honor with the proper respect.

  22. Shot this down in Rye. Born, raised, and moved back to NH after checking out the rest of the country and found that this is still one of the best places to live (until winter). Thanks for dropping in. Happy to share a bit of NH with you.
