Goodness me! What amazing shots. Just amazing.
ReplyDeleteThose bumble bees wear orange socks, that you called pollen.
ReplyDeleteLovely images, the blooms are pretty.
ReplyDeletewow...you got some really cool shots cheryl... that is a lot of pollen....
ReplyDeleteI'd tell you how great your photos are, but I have to stop hyperventilating first. Just kidding! Well, sort of...
ReplyDeleteHahaha...yes, I have a wee bee phobia. Your photos are not *too* disturbing, however the real life variety definitely freaks me out.
I like taking pictures of bees. They are so busy collecting pollen, they pay very little attention to me. These are well done!
ReplyDeleteAwesome bee macros, Cheryl! Thanks so much for sharing at Your Sunday Best this week. :)
ReplyDeletei think they're marvelous creatures!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the bees. They're so interesting to watch.
ReplyDeleteWhat detailed photographs. They really are amazing. You must have incredible patience!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are amazing! I adore bumble bees! I always wonder how those fat boys can fly though! I like honey bees too. We've had a few swarms in our neighborhood this year. We didn't seem many for the last few years so I was really thrilled to see them back. Just beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best nature photographer I know. Hands down.
ReplyDelete=)
Holy crap! How did you take those close-ups without getting stung?! They're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful images Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteI am not that freaked out by bumble bees which is strange because I am quite allergic to them.
Amazing macros of these insects and flowers, Cheryl. You've captured them wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in Floral Friday Fotos!
Wow what amazing pictures - so close, so much detail. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBee still my beating heart!!! Fabulous photos and you are one brave chic getting in there with them!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what freaks me out the most? THE BEES!
ReplyDeleteWow! AMAZING shots! I love seeing the bumble bee up close. :-) Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThey do have a lot of pollen there. Glad they are doing their jobs!
ReplyDeleteWOW. You took these!!!??? AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. My CC pic is up too.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, these are amazing! Okay, you have to tell me, what kind of a lens are you using to get shots like these if you're not using a macro lens?
ReplyDeleteStunning macros!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fi.
ReplyDeleteI love how you see things. Yes, they do look like they're wearing orange socks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen.
ReplyDeleteI don't like wasps and hornets, but bumbles and honey bees don't even notice me. I'm far more cautious around mosquitoes than when I'm around them.
ReplyDeleteThey completely ignore me too. Makes it easier to get candid shots. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy. Thanks for being such a gracious host.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
ReplyDeleteFascinating, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI would never have tried this with film, but with digital, I can shoot continuously and occasionally capture something that pleases me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. I'm glad they're back in your 'hood too. I remember trying to cross-pollinate fruit trees with a tiny paintbrush back in the late 90s.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue. I keep working on it.
ReplyDeleteThese sweeties don't sting. Silly woman. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBumble jets, what a great visual. These guys are very quiet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. My dad was acutely allergic to them too & I'm really glad the gene didn't come my way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nick.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pinkoddy.
ReplyDeleteNah, they are harmless if I ignore them. They paid no attention to me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought of you when I posted the warning.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The closer the better!
ReplyDeleteMe too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katherine. I love hanging with these guys.
ReplyDeleteThanks KB.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle.
ReplyDeleteI have a 5+ year old Nikon with a 55-200 mm lens. I get as close as the lens will allow me focus then shoot using the highest pixel quality possible. I crop out the excess. In some cases, that's quite a bit. In others, not as much. Until about 6 months ago, I had no idea people were using macro lenses to get their incredible close-ups. I'm such a dufus.
ReplyDeleteGreat bee shots!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely a brave soul. Cool pics though!
ReplyDeleteThis is just fantastically clicked! It must be so difficult to click them while they are in motion. Hope you have a nice week:)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a pretty long lens, I don't have anything that long. My only zoom lens is 24-105 mm, so I really do need the macro lens to get any kind of decent close up shots.
ReplyDeleteMy camera came with 28-55 mm and I bought the 55-200 zoom at the same time. I'd been using both lenses with my Nikon film 35mm for years and didn't want to lose the range. These days, the recommendation is a 300mm (it's the longest lens that can still be used hand-held). I'm having severe lens envy. Must. Have. Macro.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I am in AWE of your photography skills. FOR SERIOUS.
ReplyDeleteLove these photos! How awesome ...
ReplyDeleteWOWEE! Super close ups!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing eye you have! I really enjoyed exploring your blog. Will subscribe in my reader - wish I had your gift, my Dear. :)
ReplyDeleteI can only hope you had one heckuva zoom lens. My bees don't stand still long enough for a good shot! I actually love carpenter bees (the last shots). They don't seem aggressive and will tolerate me close-by. Hope your have a great weekend, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThose last few shots are of the same bee as the first couple. Pretty sure they're bumbles based on their fuzziness. (Zoomed into 200 mm and cropped.)
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day, Lisa. Enjoy the day.
Thank you. I wish I could find my writing voice again. Thankfully there are plenty of talented folks who write what I think. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks CG.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always amazing!! *buzzzzzz*
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
XOXO
Anna
