30 Days of Photographs II: Silence (is Often Purple)
Michael and Ziva are hosting a 30 day photographic challenge during April. With the list of daily topics, I just know this is going to suck. I've decided this level of pressure is exactly what I need to make sure I pick up my camera more often. I get really really grumpy when I stop shooting.

Lovely, Cheryl. I'll have to check out that photo challenge you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at Your Sunday Best. :)
absolutely gorgeous!!
ReplyDeletethanks so much for sharing:)
I like how the focus is in on the plant. It also almost appears like an alien structure on another planet. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteYou know how they say "pretty as a picture"? Now I know why. Welcome to the competition. You're off to a great start.
ReplyDeletebeautiful bit of spring...i wanna smell them...can you make this scratch n sniff...
ReplyDeleteYay, another person to beat Mike!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about getting grumpy when I don't take photos. :)) Interesting that you think silence is often purple. Did I understand that correctly?
ReplyDeleteCheryl, your composition and use of depth-of-field are fantastic! Fantastic photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo, especially considering you only just joined and didn't have two weeks to think about it like the rest of us did! We're very happy to have you participate in our challenge. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha. It's just a crocus. That's a great color for your Team. How do you know it looks better on a crocus? have you been playing with the clothes again?
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteOooh! The colors are so intense in this photo! I love how the purple and green pop with clarity against the neutral and out-of-focus background :-)
ReplyDeletePurple is my FAVORITE color. I think you did FABULOUS.
ReplyDeleteamazes me that while the colors are so strong . . . the plant itself is so fragile as it emerges from it's winter hibernation . . .
ReplyDeleteI li ke how the vibrant color just pops off that soft depth of field. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGlad you could join in the (ahem) 'fun'! That is a crocus, right? But where are the frogs? (yeah, yeah, I know - that was pretty lame).
ReplyDeleteBut I really love your photos.See ya tomorrow!;-)
Wonderful photo ... love those little crocus!
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect photo -- beautifully composed, the background out of focus to force your eye to the flower, the purple and green the only real colors in the frame. Great work, Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteSilence is always in purple.
ReplyDeleteLove is in red.
Beautiful photo. I like to think that I can "hear" the flowers blooming when they push up from the soil.
ReplyDeleteWhen my crocuses bloom, I always look upon them as so brave...especially since they're likely to be frost-bitten and snow-covered before long. This little flower seems to be saying "Here I am, world!" - a challenge to the elements. I love it!
ReplyDeleteSO pretty in purple! Love it and the light is just right...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous. The purple is superb, as is the sharpness of the flower and I love the way the ground fades, the focus is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDelete=)
That's great! I love the use of light and focus.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo! I love the color pop amidst the neutral background. Really nice. I'm glad I got to come here and meet you!
ReplyDeleteThat's the precise colour which I've chosen for the Control Office team T shirts this summer! It looks much better on a crocus though. (It is a crocus, right - Not something else which looks like a crocus but is actually something that you have over there which is going to open up to be a not-crocus?)
ReplyDeleteI like this shot since the purple really stood out on that gray background!
