Phallic or Simply Twisted?

I'm going to let you be the judge on this one.

The original . . .

cropped . . .

rotated . . .

and nothing but bud.

I swear this morning glory didn't look at all phallic in August.

  10. Simply twisted, Cheryl. I wouldn't have thought phallic at all if you hadn't mentioned it. LOL

  15. Oh My! - Well I'm voting for Gorgeous (it's the safer choice) and it really is a lovely bud.

  16. THey are all lovely but I think I like the "cropped" the most. Such a beautiful spiral.

  17. Thank you. I loved the striping.

  18. Once I pulled it up on the screen, it just kind of jumped off the screen and screamed at me really loudly. I could not make it stop or do anything to make it less erectile.

  19. Thanks Sue. Either way, I really liked it too.

  22. I think it looks twisted--in a really cool way!

  23. aren't flowers the "sex" organs of plants?   the whole attraction and pollination thing ??... and yes, a bit of both, and beautiful at the same time

  24. Just plain gorgeous!

  25. Hmmm . . . I say the flower's  phallic and you're slightly twisted!

  27. I LOVE Morning Glories, but they are SO invasive!  Lovely shot!  Thanks for coming by 'The View From Right Here' for a visit... ;-)

  28. The most beautiful thing in the Universe. It's not a phallic symbol and it's not a swirl. It's a 3D spiral, the epitome of fractal law (the mathematical law in physics which guides anything organic to grow), the most ancient human symbol (since prehistorical times). The glory of our Maker, if you're a believer.

  29. Beautiful macro photos, especially I like the last one.

    Regards and best wishes

  32. Erm, that's different! Your comment list is working backwards! And I, you know - ultra observant me, go down the list step by step clicking 'Load more comments' thinking to myself  'At some point I'm going to reach a box down the bottom!' until, eventually... DOH! Wha'sit doing up here?

Now, about your post... Erm... I've forgotten the question.

  33. Whichever it is, I suspect it was a gorgeous purple when it opened! :)

  34. What! How'd that ^ ^ happen?

  35. Sorry for the confusion. Playing around with new technology. This is what it looked like wide open.

  36. Thank you Tatjana. After playing around with it, I found I liked that last one too.

  37. From early spring until late fall, I'm plucking the new plants before they can get big enough to strangle my ever-blooming rose.

  38. Aha! Are you a closet botanist? It's all just pistils and stamens to me.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks Cheryl. I hadn't noticed until I pulled it up on the screen. (Yes, I have way too many photos.)

  40. Isn't nature magnificent? I'm sure you don't have the same problem I have (so many pictures you haven't even looked at most of them since the day you took snapped 'em). ::snort::

  43. Both ;-)  Gorgeous work.  Morning glories are very special to me.  My volunteer indigo ones who showed up one year and now are all over used to be my avatar when I first started Life is Good.
