Merry Hallowe'en Y'all! It's A Giveawaypalooza!

Last year, Shutterfly reached out to bloggers to promote their products. All I had to do was pander like a crazy person tell you about all the wonders on their site to get 50 free holiday cards.

For me.

Nothing for you.

Kind of a lose/lose for all us since I'm not much of a holiday celebrant.

This year, it's different. All I've got to do is type 175 words about Shutterfly to give away codes for 25 free cards to three, yes 3, of you lucky readers.

Sounds simple, right?

Not so much. First there's a deadline. I hate deadlines almost as much as I hate serious writing. Add to that the freakish nor'easter that dumped snow, large tree limbs, and branches all over my little world and you'll understand why I'm lacking motivation. It's not even Hallowe'en yet and it looks like early January out there. But I told y'all I'd be doing this so I'm typing away while keeping one eye on the NASCAR race. If you find typos, you'll know I was distracted by something The Jeff did during the race.

Last year I chose a Livestrong card {10% of the proceeds went directly to Livestrong}, added my pictures, and tossed in a greeting (with a missing word). Yes, I was mortified. I sent them anyway.

This is last year's card. I'm a bit of an anti-traditionalist.

Holy shiitake!

The Jeff is in 1st place.

Go Jeff Go!

Where was I?

Oh, Shutterfly and praising their fantasmagoric site. I loved everything about my experience last year. From being able to use sustainably forested card stock to being able to choose a layout from a variety of cards that supported charitable organizations. My choice of photos; my choice of glossy or matte finish; my choice of words, my very own typos. Yeah, I could have done without that last one. I forgot a word. Go figure.

Wow!

The Jeff is still in 1st!

Crap! Hamlin's creeping up on him.

Pull away, Jeff! Pull away!

Ah crap.

Dang it, Hamlin!

Shutterfly offers a wide variety of just about anything printable. Since I'll be giving away 25 free cards to 3 lucky readers, I'll point you in the general direction of their Christmas Cards, Holiday Cards, and All Occasion Greeting Cards.

I'm loving this.

Tony is giving Hamlin fits.

The Jeff is closing back in on Hamlin.

Go Jeff, Go!

I really have to go now. This race is getting exciting.

How do you enter this giveaway? Take a tour around Shutterfly's cardapalooza and let me know which card you'd select. Remember, you're not restricted to holiday cards. You could even choose an invitation to a rockin' party.

You must enter your selection in the comments by Thursday, November 4, for a chance to win one of the 3 prizes.

I haven't decided whether or not I'm sending cards this year. If I do, this very well could be the card I choose. Or not. Depends on whether the seasons normalize between now and then.

Yes, those are the larger limbs that came down in the storm.

Whee! The Jeff is back in 1st!

If anyone from NSA, TSA, HSA, FTC, FTD, IRS, CIA, FBI cares, I received 50 free cards in return for offering this giveaway. If you're from NCIS, call. I don't care what RM says, Mark Harmon, I think you're aging just fine and HD doesn't really bring out your wrinkles as much as you'd think.

UPDATE: For those of you who're wondering, The Jeff finished a respectable 3rd. Booyah!

17 thinkers thunk a thought:

  1. so are you smirking having come in just in front of Harvick....dang...smiles...crazy wrecks today too...there was one stretch i was wondering if it was demolition derby...

alright, so i am waiting to learn about women...so i may pass on the giveaway...dont want to be accused of being your favorite by winning everything you know...smiles.

i like your card from last year...

  2. I sent around a poem instead of a card, so I don't need the giveaway.

But I was sure entertained by your meld of race announcing and shutterfly reviewing!

    =)

  3. Did he win? (This from the ignoramus who once had to ask you what NASCAR was).

You got it written though. Well done.

Is that your house? It looks really cool; very different to my brick built semi :)

  5. You are too funny, Cheryl. I love your sense of humor.

I also really like the Snowflake Borders holiday card. So there! :)

(So sorry about your Autumn storm. I hope it warms up a bit for you.)

  6. Funny post although I couldn't relate to not sending out Christmas cards. I've sent out cards (with family pics in them) for the past 36 years! I'm up to 150 cards now. I pride myself in always being the first card everyone gets, mailing them the day after Thanksgiving. I'm already working on addressing this years cards, and will use a photo from my daughter's wedding in (2 more weeks)! I KNOW. I'm completely OBNOXIOUS. But, It's the only way I keep in touch since I'm pretty anti social during the rest of the year, so I depend on cards to keep in touch :) Again, funny post. I hope your man Jeff won the race!

  7. wow! that snow is just something else ... i'm sitting here in sun ... it's not warm or anything, but sun, and I can't imagine snow at this time of year ... get yourself warmed up ... I make all of my own cards so i wont be in the draw, but thanks for the opportunity just the same! and you last years cards were beautiful!

  8. Was so weirded out by the snow on Saturday. I kept thinking that it would stop and I'd be on my way to Home Depot for paint supplies soon but it just kept coming. I scrapped the paint supply idea to be safe and cozy indoors. Chain saws were a hummin' on Sunday in my neck of the woods. Lost my "Don't turn the furnace on till Thanksgiving" game I play every year. Can't have the pipes freezing....=)

  9. Oh my golly - you crack me right up! You know, NASCAR comes to Dover twice a year. If you and hubby ever want to go, let me know and we'll put you up. You couldn't get us to go for a million dollars because there are all kinds of nuts up there. Even the local folks take their RVs up and spend lonnnnnng weekends. It's starts a day or two before the race. Kah-raaaaaaaazy!

  10. I didn't find a nudie Jeff card, so I would have to go with Oh, Holy Night!

  11. cheryl you make me smile! That snowtober card is going to stick in my head all day...We always get snow in october...nothing new here but I know it hit the east by surprise and well...while I wish it wasn't so destructive...I couldn't help but think "whats the big deal? sometimes we see it in September and June..." for me that is a good thing...for you all, not so much

  12. You crack me up! Though the deadline is looooong gone (that's a baseball saying by the Detroit Tigers beloved Ernie Harwell)...I still had fun reading the post. I use shutterfly too, to make a calendar of my favorite (and only) pupster each year. Didn't think about Christmas cards. Too bad I already bought my cards for this year!

  13. I did think about you when Snowtober hit, but I got distracted with work and forgot to check to see if you were okay. :-(

Shutterfly solidified it's customer service to me a few weeks ago. While putting together a book about Peanut's 3rd birthday, I had a brain fart and misspelled her middle name. I know....bad Nana. I discovered it after the book was already shipped. Thinking I had nothing to lose, I emailed customer service, explained my tragedy and they gave me a code to get the book reprinted...for free! I couldn't believe it.

  14. I make my own holiday cards, so not worried to have missed the deadline. Glad I read this, though -- so very entertaining!!!

  15. You are so funny! And bummer on the limbs that came down.

  16. I just love that you said "shitcake" and YES, I think you should definitely send the Snowtober card.

And a Happy Winterween to you!

  17. I think I ended my holiday card habit last year when I didn't send half of mine out.

    Love your cards!
