Summer's Final Knock-Out Punch

Summer, summer, fickle tramp
Hate your end—so chill and damp.
Cold as winter of a morn
In the autumn that's the norm.
Summer, summer, wretched . . . &#*%h
All my wool clothes really itch.

Jenny Matlock

Hanging out with Jenny this week. She tossed a gauntlet I couldn't resist. Write a 32 word piece to the melody(?) of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" using the 3-word prompt: in the autumn. If you think you can handle the cold heat and keep it PG, come on over!

42 thinkers thunk a thought:

  1. Haha! I love this poem! Cooler temps are welcome but I can't help feeling the same way! Bravo!

  5. LOVE it! You've got talent! It's quite chilly here... and rainy. We needed rain in the summer for the flowers, and didn't get any... now the flowers are leaving and we get the rain. Go figure!

  6. Fabulous! I was wondering if it needed to be at the beginning.

There's a picture prompt here if you fancy it! http://jfb57.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/100-word-challenge-for-grown-ups-week-10/
